Your Christian Running CoachI will help you develop a plan to fit your running goals. Races could be a 5K,10K, Half Marathon, or a Marathon. As your running coach or marathon coach I want your running training program to fit your lifestyle in such a way as not to dominate your life. You will be given training options that will allow you the freedom to adapt to family and professional needs. Of course we want you to look for opportunities to use your running to serve others. As your Christian running coach, we will also give you suggestions on how that might look. In 1978 while in college, I took on the challenge of running a marathon. I was very naive as to marathon training. My longest training run was barely over an hour. During the race, I felt very good until mile 13 and by mile 15 I was in a car being shuttled to the finish. Since then I have studied and learned to be a wise marathon / running coach. |
Your Christian Cycling CoachI will help you develop a plan to fit your cycling goals. Your goals may center on preparing for races, tours, or special rides on your vacation. I have years of experience as a Christian cycling coach that you can put to work for you. Your cycling training program will need to fit your lifestyle in such a way as not to dominate your life. You will be given training options that will allow you the freedom to adapt to family and professional needs. Of course we want you to look for opportunities to use your cycling to serve others. We will give you suggestions on how that might look. Prior to getting married, my wife and I did training rides to prepare for our honeymoon. After our wedding, we flew to Europe to spend a month riding through the Italian, Swiss, and French Alps. Our highlights including participating in the Tour of the Dolomites, riding the 53 switchbacks on the Stelvio Pass, riding into Chamonix, watching the Tour de France for 5 days on our bikes that included riding up the Alpe de Huez and the Col du Juex Plan. During 2008, I trained to return to my favorite mountain ( Mt. Diablo) in California to beat my best time in a hill climb that I set in 1992. As a Christian cycling coach I have worked with beginning cyclists that have gone on to win championships. One such rider became a national champion that now races worldwide. |
Your Christian Triathlon CoachI will help you to develop a plan to fit your triathlon goals. Your goals may be to prepare for your first triathlon or to qualify for the national championships. As a Christian cycling coach, marathon coach, and swimming coach I will be able to help you with every aspect of the triathlon training. In addition, my experiences competing in triathlons allows me to guide you in setting up a Christian triathlon training program specific to your needs . Your triathlon training program will need to fit your lifestyle in such a way as not to dominate your life. Your triathlon training program will allow you the freedom to adapt to family and professional needs. Of course I want you to look for opportunities to serve. That could be volunteering for a youth triathlon or running race. I have worked with first timers and I also have trained with a 2004 Olympic triathlete. Back in 1983, I developed a plan to race my first triathlon. It was 5 weeks away. I used my coaching salary to purchase an entry level road bike. My swimming background included 4 years in high school and as a student assistant on my college swim team. But I had no biking experience other than riding a stingray as a kid. After 5 weeks of training ,I competed in a Bud Lite Triathlon race that took me just over 3 hours to complete. The leaders of that race were the legends, Dave Scott, Scott Tinley, and Scott Molina. Over the years I have continued to do triathlons. Now, having young children, ( boys 3 & 5), my racing schedule includes only two local sprint triathlons . Adding swimming to my running and cycling takes too much time away from family and work. In fact, I do only 3-6 swim workouts prior to a race. However, after 25 years of triathlons, it is still a thrill and a challenge to swim, bike and run.

Your Christian Weight Loss and Wellness Coach I will help you develop a plan to fit your wellness and weight loss goals. Wellness is the balance of your mind, body and soul. There are many factors that affect ones wellness. Evaluating and setting achievable life goals is where we would start. Creating new daily habits that will allow you to see progress is very important. Exercise and proper nutrition are the foundation of physical well being. Having a healthy body reduces your risk for health and stress issues. I will give you the resources to achieve your wellness or weight loss goals. My mother’s lifestyle choices shortened her life and she didn't get to attend my wedding or see grandchildren. Do you have friends and family members that have health issues from lack of exercise and excess weight? I have a friend who was very overweight. Over the last few years she has lost 200 pounds. She has been incredibly focused and, as a result, has taken her life back. She realized that a change of lifestyle was a matter of life or death. What a great example of perseverance, courage, and focus. She is looking forward to spending many years with her family and friends. |
